The Progress and Backwardness of Societies and Civilizations from the Perspective of the Holy Qur’an

A scientific conference entitled “The Progress and Backwardness of Societies and Civilizations from the Perspective of the Holy Qur’an” was held.

This program was planned by the Faculty of Shari‘at of Salam University and was presented by Associate Professor Dr. Mohammad Taher Qasemi, a member of the academic staff of this faculty, in the conference hall of Salam University.

The program began with moderation by one of the conference participants and the recitation of several verses from the Holy Qur’an by Shafiq-ur-Rahman Mohammadi, a third-semester student of the Faculty of Computer Science.

Following this, Dr. Mohammad Taher Qasemi delivered the scientific presentation and discussed issues such as examining the factors behind the progress and decline of societies and civilizations in the light of the Holy Qur’an. He emphasized that factors such as faith, knowledge, justice, observance of universal and social laws, cooperation and solidarity, moral values, a suitable environment and economic resources, and a stable political system can lead to the progress of societies and civilizations. He also pointed out that deviation in beliefs, authoritarian rule, oppression, and corruption in its various forms are among the major causes of the backwardness of societies and civilizations.

In this regard, he presented detailed, useful, and valuable discussions and later provided satisfactory answers to the questions raised by the participants.

A large number of students from the Faculty of Computer Science of Salam University attended this scientific conference.
