At 2:00 PM on Wednesday, 23 Mizan 1404, a special academic seminar for the lecturers of Salam University, titled “Global Standards of Academic Publishing and Techniques of Referencing,” was held in the university conference hall. This program, initiated by the Research Directorate of the Research Vice-Chancellery, was comprehensively presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Sadeq, Dean of the Faculty of Economics.
The program began with the recitation of several verses from the Holy Quran, followed by opening remarks from Ustad Mohammad Tariq Sayar, Head of Journals. Afterwards, Dr. Misbahullah Abdulbaqi, President of Salam University, delivered guiding remarks, expressing appreciation for this initiative of the Research Vice-Chancellery and praising Dr. Abdullah Sadeq’s knowledge and expertise in research-related matters. Addressing the lecturers in attendance, he emphasized that the formal structure of academic articles—especially the methods of citation and referencing—holds great importance, and that no reputable national or international journal accepts submissions without adhering to these requirements.
Following this, Dr. Sadeq presented his lecture titled “Academic Publishing Standards and Techniques of Citation and Referencing,” in which he thoroughly discussed the criteria for article acceptance in international journals.
In the second part of the presentation, practical methods of referencing using the APA (7th Edition) style were introduced. However, due to limited time, all details could not be fully explained. Therefore, the Research Vice-Chancellery of Salam University plans to offer the remaining portion of the program as a separate workshop for the lecturers and other interested participants at an appropriate future time.
