The Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Salam University organized an academic and educational visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 16th of Sunbula, 1404 AH, with the participation of 20 students from the aforementioned department. The purpose of this visit was to enhance the academic and practical awareness of the students.
During the visit, officials of the ministry provided a detailed explanation of the structure and position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as its key role in shaping the country’s foreign policy. Subsequently, the Institute of Diplomacy—serving as the ministry’s specialized academic and research body—was introduced to the students along with its duties and functions.
The students also visited the Directorate of Protocol, the First to Fourth Political Directorates, the Consular Directorate, the Administrative and Financial Directorate, the Archive Directorate, the Directorate of Legal Affairs and Treaties, the Directorate of Strategic Studies, and the Directorate of Regional Organizations, where they became familiar with the roles and responsibilities of each section.
The respected officials of the Ministry provided comprehensive and specialized information regarding the relevant activities during the program. At the end of the session, the Deputy of the Institute of Diplomacy listened to the viewpoints and suggestions of the students, and the program concluded with a closing prayer.
Such academic visits will, in the future, create meaningful opportunities to strengthen the theoretical and practical knowledge of students in the fields of foreign policy and diplomacy.
